On a walk at the park, we saw baby foxes frolicking on the edge of the woods.  So cute!

Everyone who is on IUPUI's campus--go around the back of UC and the lecture hall.  The magnolia trees are blooming :)

My mom is funny.

Last time I was home I set up her voicemail on her cell phone because she couldn't figure out how to do it.  Well, I've since left her a couple of messages and every time she just calls me back and asks what I wanted because she couldn't figure out how to check the VM.  I showed her how to check it when I set it up and I"ve told her over the phone at least twice to either hold down the 1 key until it dials or if she can't remember that then to just dial her cell number from her cell phone.  Easy right?  She still can't figure it out.  Ah, the classic older generation mind block against new technology.

My dad is one of those people that think you need to be at the airport 2 hours early, so in his haste I was here 3 hours early and it only took 20 minutes to get through security. Oh well, now I have time to post pictures. Before that, I accidentally almost killed my stepmom today. We were at a crossroad on the path we were hiking today and I wanted to go one way and she wanted to go the other so my dad flipped a coin. I won and the path was quite a doozy. Poor Jan, she almost got heat stroke. Yes, heat stroke in February. It was so cool though. Great views that I"m sure I'll inflct on you all at a later date since they are not on my computer yet. For now, I'll inflict the hike from 2 days ago onto you.

So this is the hill we are climbing up:

Hmm, wonder what's in here... this is why I'm a scientist--I get it from my dad. We drove my stepmom crazy with stopping every 5 minutes looking at the rocks and discussing the geology.

Running water in the desert. It just rained heavily about a week or so ago. Last year I guess this was just stagnant puddles.

You can't really tell since the mountain water is so clear, but I needed proof of wading in water in the middle of the winter :)

And now the petroglyphs, cause I'm a nerd:

Top 5 reasons...

...why it is awesome to go to Arizona in February.

1.  While I'm there the predicted high is 76 degrees
2.  While I'm there the lowest low predicted is 45 degrees.
3.  Record low is 28 so there is almost no way it will get below freezing ever for an entire weekend.
4.  It will be completely sunny there the entire time with only a 0-10% chance of rain.
5.  It is freezing here, there are flood warnings, it is cloudy--all the time, everything is dead and brown.

Have fun in Indy while I'm gone :)  Ok, I'm done being obnoxious.

I'm sick and miserable, sniffling and sneezing and I'm sitting next to this woman at a coffee shop probably getting my germs all over her. She is probably thinking that I should go home. I agree but I have 3 classes today to get through and homework to do. If I go home I will sleep another 12 hours like last night. It seems like I always get sick during the last week of school. Always a perfect time.

I mentioned that this coconut chocolate cake looked good at Starbucks and Jeremy brought me a piece yesterday. He's so sweet :) I have the best boyfriend ever. Also, the elusive class canceling happened to me today. Walked up to my spanish class and there was a big sign on the door. Yeah! Is this perhaps my Felix Felicis day? Maybe I should apply for a new job...

Funny story

I took a quiz just now--what's your social disfunction. It came out "happy." First off, they have "happy" as an option on this test? Second, when the hell did that happen? Weird.

Your Social Dysfunction:
Happy

You're a happy person - you have a good amount of self-esteem, and are socially healthy. While this isn't a social dysfunction per se, you're definitely not normal. Consider yourself lucky: you walk that fine line between 'normal' and being outright narcissistic. You're rare - which is something else to be happy about.

False Dilemma

People always say "what do you have to lose, all they can say is no" as if there are only two responses to something--yes or no. Wrong, there is something much worse than no. They can just blow you off and not answer at all. Then it's not "no" but "you are not even worth responding to." Yes, so I am officially having an 8th grade day. Nothing like a little music to help that along.
